Walmart and Dick's are being sued for discrimination. The law in most states say an 18 year old can buy a rifle. They are violating those laws. It would be like them refusing to sell liquor to someone until they are 25.

I hope they win, but I heard it is only one kid who is fighting the battle. Pretty hard to do alone, unless he could get a class-action lawsuit filed.
