Got a new surround sound for the TV, first one we have had, sounds good.
 
Do they still use Plastigauge?
Never have.

I use a yellow grease to check the gear pattern and use a dial gauge for checking/determining backlash requirements.
Also should have an assortment of 'shims', crush-sleaves when doing Ford 9", 44's $ 30's
It can take a bit of time to get it all correct. You don't want the gears running High or Low in the pattern and be very careful setting the backlash or they will DIE quickly!,

Fact: My SHELBY GT500 is at 854 RWHP / 841 Ft # TQ... w/ 3:73's and holds up real well... no problem w/ the rear gears.
