Yeah, im not a fan. Grandpa doesn't like them either, even today he told me how they took over and he doesn't even know who i am.

My brother traced ours back to Scotland. We were the Scots the king made move to Ireland, and then we came to the new world and eventually ended up in Missouri.

My mom traced us back quite a ways, i still havent opened up the folder she gave me and that was probably 15 years ago. I dont know much past my great grandparents on my moms side and i never knew my grandfather on my dads side. Great grandpa on moms side was an olympic wrestler in the early 1900s. Was a swede who wrestled for USA. I just found a bunch of his trophies in grandpas house.

The King of England did not like Ireland being all Catholic, so he made some of the Protestant Scots move to Ireland where they were hated. So they came to the new world and the English called them "non-white" here. So they were run out of the English colonies into the interior. They first settled in Kentucky and then moved to Missouri. My ancestors settled in this area in the early 1800s.
With Ancestry dot com, there is a good chance someone has already filled in the blanks for you. Seems like everyone is doing that stuff now. My kids don't seem to give a shit though.

The English listed anyone who was not from England as non-white on the bills of lading on the ships. Irish, Scottish, Welsh, German and all Scandinavians. They were considered inferior by the English.
